Making Amends

Posted on Sun Nov 29th, 2015 @ 10:20pm by Lieutenant Commander Valyre Reen & Cadet Senior Grade Syrena Hansen

Mission: Smuggler's Delight
Location: USS Islandica, Sickbay
Timeline: After the holodeck incident

Syrena entered Sickbay to locate the Chief Medical Officer, She wanted to clear the air-- By making amends to the earlier situation in the holodeck; Plus, She hadn't had her medical evaluation done when she arrived onboard the ship yet, Neither had she even met the Chief Medical Officer officially. "Cadet Senior Grade Syrena Hansen reporting for medical evaluation." She announced when she finally spotted the woman in charge, Who was clearly in the middle of working on evaluating another patient.

"It's going to be a minute, Cadet." Valyre's tone was more or less neutral, but with a definite 'I am busy' note to it. "Why don't you have a seat on an empty biobed? I should be done here soon."

Giving the woman a silent nod of confirmation, Syrena sat herself down upon a nearby empty biobed as she'd been instructed to. Waiting as patiently as her Klingon half had all but allowed her to do for the doctor to finish.

Finishing with the laser suture, Valyre gave her small patient a serious look. "No more dragon hunting without your parents. Next time I'll let the dragon eat you."

The boy giggled as he hopped off the table, and both his parents grinned a bit as they escorted him out.

Finally, Valyre turned her attention to Syrena, pausing to wash her hands and swap out the laser suture's head for a clean one before putting it away. "What brings you here?"

"Just reporting in for a medical evaluation since I forgot to get it done when I first arrived onboard ship a few days ago." Syrena answered without missing a beat. "Plus I just wanted to apologize for my behavior earlier. That strange woman with the child never did tell me what happened in the holodeck when I asked her what the situation was." She didn't know the name of the strange Chameloid woman, Since she didn't ask. But Syrena figured she'd introduce herself to that woman later once things have settled down. She knew better than to mess with anyone when they weren't in a good mood.

"Whether she told you or not, your job was to stay in there until the situation was completely resolved," Valyre remarked coolly, starting her usual scans for a physical. "I trust you won't forget that again."

It looked resolved to me. Syrena thought silently to herself without saying a word, "Noted." She muttered a mere second or two later, indicating that she understood. "Anyways, I also brought the situation report with me if you'd like to look it over and give your input." She stated whilst holding up the padd she held in her hand.

"I have little interest in situation reports, but I'll look at it later." Valyre took the offered PaDD and stuck it in her lab coat pocket as she looked over her scan results. "Your scans look normal. Unless you have anything you'd like to tell me about, there's not much more to be done."

"Nope. That's it. Thank you." Syrena thanked the doctor before hopping off the biobed she'd been sitting on, "Though, I'll be needing that situation report back once you're finished looking it over." She added after a moment's silence.

"I'll load it into the computer. No sense in coming all the way back down here for a PaDD." Valyre smiled a tiny bit. "You're free to go, Cadet."

With a nod, Syrena walked towards the Sickbay's exit, but stopped briefly, "By the way, You can call me Syrena if you like, I don't supposed you'd really want to continue calling me by my rank if you don't want to. Oh, and thanks again." She managed to utter before turning and exiting the room, Leaving Valyre to return to her work.
