Decisions, Decisions

Mission: Smuggler's Delight
Location: Captain's Ready Room

As had been requested by the Captain, Se'Lah, now escorted by a member of security was heading for the Captain's ready room to meet with her. Not even back on duty for a month, and things were going crazy. As she stepped of the Turbolift onto the Bridge, those present turned to look at her. The green hue that came to her cheeks was not something she could hide, indicating to anyone who knew the situation that she was currently in the same personality that everyone aboard knew.

"As you were." She finally said, as she walked to the Captain's ready room, and rang the chime.

"Come in," Farenia called, looking up from the PaDD she was reading. "Ah, just the person I was hoping for," she continued as the doors opened. "Please, have a seat. We have things to discuss, starting with this report and recommendation from our counselor."

"Indeed." Se'Lah replied as she took a seat. "Seems this is a rather interesting situation, Captain."

The Security officer who had escorted Se'Lah entered along with her, standing off to the side. It had been explained to him that he was there both for her protection, and the protection of others in case Se'Lah flipped out again.

Looking back down at the PaDD in her hands, Farenia frowned slightly. "Interesting isn't the word I would use, but yes. According to these documents, you have two personalities in your head. One is the Se'Lah we've all come to know and love and the other is the Vulcan from before the incident that gave you supposed amnesia. Your memories are intact but only with the personality that created them. Vicky makes it sound relatively straightforward, but then she goes on and on for over forty more pages describing the scenario." Letting her eyes come up and focus on Se'lah, Farenia paused a moment. "So which one am I addressing right now, anyway?"

"The one you already know." Was Se'Lah's simple reply. She felt somewhat confused, and fairly embarrassed, though she did her best to hide it.

"Difficult for all parties involved, indeed." Farenia muttered as she set that PaDD aside and picked up another. "This is Vicky's professional recommendation. Visits to her every other day and limited duties, but for you to be cleared to act as XO once more. It seems to be sound judgement, too. Did she discuss her recommendations with you previously?"

"According to the notes on this PaDD from my other personality, she did." Se'Lah explained, tapping on her PaDD to bring up the notes that she'd found earlier. "It seems that she believes I am not a threat, and that both personalities are capable of performing the duties of XO. She also required that I use this PaDD as a journal in order to fill in blanks for events between shifts."

"That's part of it," Farenia began, her eyes scanning over the PaDD she was holding one more time before looking up and setting it down. "You are to continue your duties as XO in a limited capacity. No weapons. No away missions. You will not be allowed to take command of the ship in a crisis if I am incapacitated. Civilian attire is authorized. A yeoman will be with you at all times to either assist you or the crew until further notice. If a third personality does not crop up within a time frame decided upon by Lieutenant Iniya and there are no issues, then the requirement of an escort will be dropped. Your security clearance will remain intact, but any access of classified materials will be reviewed by myself or our Intel officer, Lieutenant Whistler. On top of that, you'll be paying Vicky a visit every few days at minimum. Do you have any questions?"

"What about normal bridge shifts...?" As she asked the question, Se'Lah seemed to lose focus, staring right through Farenia, and her eyes glazed over. After only a few seconds, she blinked and a barely perceptible repeating beep could be heard. Recognizing Captain Meowlith, Se'Lah said nothing as she reached up to lightly tap the device behind her ear to stop the alarm. "Hello again, Captain Meowlith." She said simply.

"I... Hello..." Looking down at the first PaDD for a moment, Farenia sighed softly. "I assume you're now the other personality. We were discussing your return to duty and limitations thereof."

"You assume correctly, Captain." Se'Lah replied simply. "When I met with the Counselor, she suggested that I should be able to perform my duties... with some restrictions of course... Though I am not where I originally thought I should be, I am capable of taking on the role of your Executive Officer."

"Yes, and I concur with her... extensive... assessment." Farenia said, preparing herself to repeat the prior arrangement with one thing added. "You are to continue your duties as XO in a limited capacity. No weapons. No away missions. You will not be allowed to take command of the ship in a crisis if I am incapacitated but may perform normal bridge duties other than that.

Se'Lah opened her mouth to ask a question, but didn't get the chance as the door chime rang.

"Hopefully that's who I hope it is. Come in," Farenia called, smiling slightly when she saw the face that matched a picture she'd been oring over part of that morning.

As the doors to the ready room opened, a young looking woman stepped into the room, wearing the colors of Command. She had red hair, and the rank insignia of Chief Petty Officer.

"My apologies for the interruption." The young woman said as she stood at attention. "I am Chief Petty Officer D'Tal. I was told to report directly to you upon my arrival."

"And it's good that you did. Your assignment as my new Yeoman has been temporarily redirected to being my XO's Yeoman for the foreseeable future. Now relax, sit down, and look these over." Farenia motioned to the couch, sliding the two PaDDs she had been looking over towards the chief.

Arianna took the offered seat, picking up the PaDDs that Farenia slid over to her. She quietly skimmed over the information contained in both of them, before sliding them back to the Captain. "It seems you're in a very unique situation, Commander." She said simply with a raised eyebrow. "I have heard of split personalities before, but this is the first time I've encountered anyone with such an affliction."

"Glad that I could accommodate you, Chief." Se'Lah said without hesitation.

Arianna turned to Farenia. "Should I assume that I am to be the Commander's escort during her duty shifts?"

"Yes, and you'll be on call at all times for the time being. Mark's department will be tasked to find an aid for off duty hours." Farenia said to Arianna before looking towards the security guy and waving at him that he was dismissed, then looked back to Se'Lah. "You had a question earlier?"

"I was going to ask who this Yeoman was, but my question has been answered." Se'Lah replied, typing a note into her PaDD for her other personality to inform her of this Yeoman as her escort.

As Farenia mentioned Mark's name, Arianna quickly recalled her undercover assignment to investigate Mark Whistler. "Having reviewed the ship's crew manifest, I assume you're speaking of Lieutenant Whistler?"

"Yes, our invaluable Chief Intel Officer. You'll be working with him and our Counselor, Lieutenant Iniya more than the rest of the crew, I would think." Farenia had suspicions about this yeoman just from looking over her records and the assignment orders, but she didn't want to bring it up just yet. She'd just keep eyes and ears to the deck to see if she did anything untoward for now.

"Understood, Captain." Arianna replied simply.

As Se'Lah finished typing up the note, she looked at Farenia. "When would you like me to take my first shift?"

"You're scheduled for duty tonight, actually." Farenia said as she glanced to her desk terminal for a moment. "Any concerns or objections?"

"No." Se'Lah replied simply. "I will go get some rest before my shift begins... Unless there is something more?"

"That should be everything, I think. Chief, welcome aboard. I look forward to seeing you around the ship. If there's nothing else, you're both dismissed. Let me know if any issues arise." Farenia said with a very un-Vulcan grin.

Arianna gave a slight smirk. "I will do that."

Arianna, and Se'Lah left the ready room, and headed for the turbolift, Arianna signaling for the Security Officer to follow them.

"Deck two." Arianna ordered as the doors closed behind them. "Since you're off duty, and there is no one assigned to you while you're off duty for the moment, I'm going to assign this officer to escort you to your quarters."

"Fine with me..." Se'Lah said as she drifted off into a stare. After a few seconds, a soft repeated beeping could be heard. Se'Lah tapped the device behind her ear, glancing at the PaDD in her hand, then looked up at Arianna. "Chief Petty Officer D'Tal I presume?"

"That's right." Arianna replied. "You have a duty shift starting tonight. I will escort you then, but this good looking guy here will accompany you to your quarters for some rest in the meantime."

"I see." Se'Lah said as the doors opened. Her and the Security guard stepped out, before she turned to face Arianna. "I will see you tonight then."

Arianna waved as the doors closed. Se'Lah shook her head lightly as she turned back and the two walked in the direction of her quarters.
